Quick Summary

ABB AFC contactor is a three-pole power switch for AC motor control in industrial equipment. When panel space is tight and installation time matters, you need a compact, reliable solution. It supports IEC/EN 60947-4-1, UL 60947-4-1, CSA C22.2 safety standards, plus CE declarations. Designed for 380-400 V AC 50 Hz or 400-415 V AC 60 Hz control voltages, it reliably energizes coils across regions. The compact 45 mm width, 86 mm height, and 77 mm depth fit standard enclosures while maintaining robust IP20 protection. With low coil power consumption and fast operate times, you reduce energy use and downtime in daily operations. And because it accepts add-on auxiliary blocks, your installation scales with changing control logic without rewiring.

FAQs

The 1SBL151001R8501 is designed for TH35 DIN rails (TH35-15 or TH35-7.5) and uses screw terminals for secure field wiring. This enables quick installation in standard control cabinets while maintaining reliable mechanical retention and good electrical contact. If you are retrofitting older assemblies, you can reuse existing panels without extensive rework, reducing commissioning time.
Rated Operational Current AC-3 (Ie) varies by voltage: at 415 V 60 °C it is 12 A; at 690 V 60 °C it is 9 A; AC-3e values align with 12 A at 380/400 V and 12.5 A at higher voltages. This makes the device suitable for moderate-power motor control and similar loads, while providing margin for startup surges typical in AC-3 applications.
Yes. The device is a 3P block contactor rated for main circuit operation up to 690 V, with IEC/EN 60947-4-1 and UL 60947-4-1 compliance. It supports AC-3 and AC-1 duty within the specified current ratings, making it suitable for controlling motors, pumps, and conveyors in industrial environments.
The product family carries IEC/EN 60947-1, IEC/EN 60947-4-1, UL 60947-4-1, and CSA C22.2 No. 60947-4-1 certifications, along with CE and UKCA declarations. These certifications help ensure regulatory compliance in global projects and simplify cross-border sourcing and qualification.
Benefits include low per-pole power loss (0.2 W under AC-3), compact footprint reducing cabinet heat and cooling needs, and fast operate times (9–26 ms). The ability to add auxiliary blocks supports scalable control logic without rewiring, which lowers lifecycle maintenance costs and improves system uptime in automation lines.
