Returns Policy
At MM Engineering Services, we want you to be completely satisfied with your purchase. We offer a 30-day easy returns policy on electric motors and associated equipment, giving you peace of mind when ordering from us.
Your Right to Cancel (Distance Selling)
Under the Consumer Contracts Regulations 2013, you have the right to cancel your order for any reason within 14 days of receiving your goods. You do not need to provide a reason. Once you have notified us of your intention to cancel, you have a further 14 days to return the item to us.
We extend this to 30 days from the date of delivery as part of our commitment to excellent customer service.
Conditions for Return
To qualify for a full 100% refund, the following conditions must be met:
- Unused condition – The motor must not have been installed, wired, powered on, or used in any way
- Original packaging – The product must be returned in its original, undamaged packaging with all protective materials, labels, and seals intact
- Complete – All accessories, documentation, and components supplied with the motor must be included
Why do we require this?
Electric motors that have been installed or powered cannot legally be resold as new. Once a motor has been connected to a power supply, we cannot verify its condition or guarantee its performance for a future customer. This protects both you and our other customers.
How to Return an Item
- Contact us within 30 days of receiving your order by emailing [insert email] or calling [insert number] to request a returns authorisation
- Pack the item securely in its original packaging
- Return the item to us using a tracked delivery service (we recommend keeping proof of postage)
- Receive your refund – Once we have received and inspected the item, we will process your refund within 14 days
You are responsible for the cost of return postage unless the item is faulty or we made an error with your order.
Faulty or Misdescribed Goods
Under the Consumer Rights Act 2015, you have additional statutory rights if goods are faulty, not as described, or not fit for purpose:
- Within 30 days – You are entitled to a full refund
- Within 6 months – We will repair or replace the item. If this is not possible, you are entitled to a full refund
- After 6 months – You may still be entitled to a repair, replacement, or partial refund if you can demonstrate the fault was present at the time of purchase
For faulty items, we will cover reasonable return postage costs.
Items That Cannot Be Returned
We are unable to accept returns on:
- Motors that have been installed, wired, or powered on
- Motors returned without original packaging or with damaged packaging
- Custom-built or modified motors made to your specification
- Items damaged through misuse or incorrect installation
Refunds
Refunds will be issued to the original payment method within 14 days of receiving the returned item. If you paid for express delivery, we will refund the cost of standard delivery only, unless the return is due to our error or a faulty product.
