Quick Summary

ABB 1SBL151005R8401 is a block contactor designed for motor control in industrial automation and control panels. It switches three-phase loads up to 690 V and features a built-in NC auxiliary contact with push-in terminals for fast, reliable wiring. A common challenge is coil voltage compatibility and space constraints; this unit uses a 110 V AC control coil (50/60 Hz) and a compact 45 mm width to save panel space. It carries IEC/EN 60947-1 and 60947-4-1 approvals, UL 60947-4-1, and CE/UKCA declarations, enabling global deployment. By combining a compact footprint with easy DIN rail mounting and low energy consumption, it delivers cost-effective, safe, and scalable panel integration for modern automation projects.

FAQs

This device supports mounting on TH35-15 or TH35-7.5 DIN rails. Use the provided space for the main terminals and ensure proper clearance for ventilation. Use the 2 x M4 screws for secure mounting if DIN rail isn’t available, and verify conductor wiring within the specified 0.5–4 mm² range for main circuits.
The coil is rated for 110 V AC with 50/60 Hz operation. There are variants supporting 110 V AC at 50 Hz and 60 Hz, with holding and pull-in values published for reliable coil performance in typical industrial environments.
Yes. It is rated for AC-3 operation at up to 690 V, with a rated operational current of 12 A under 60 °C conditions and up to 28 A at 690 V depending on temperature and short-time withstand considerations. It is designed for motor control in compliance with IEC/EN 60947-4-1 and UL 60947-4-1.
It carries IEC/EN 60947-1 and 60947-4-1, UL 60947-4-1, and CSA, plus CE and UKCA declarations. Additional certifications include BV, CB, CQC, CCC, DNV, and RINA in various regional packages, ensuring broad regulatory compliance and supplier assurance.
Low coil power loss (0.26 W per pole under AC-3) reduces heat and energy costs, while the built-in NC contact simplifies control logic and reduces wiring, lowering maintenance time. The compact footprint and DIN rail compatibility speed installation, offering a favorable TCO over traditional relays in demanding automation environments.
