FAQs

The AFC16-22-00-34 is designed for DIN rail mounting using TH35-15 or TH35-7.5 rails. It also supports screw mounting with two M4 screws placed diagonally. This combination provides secure installation in compact control cabinets while maintaining accessibility for wiring and future expansion. Typical torque for main circuit connections is 1.5 N·m and 1.2 N·m for the control circuit.
For AC-1 operation at 690 V, the contactor supports up to 30 A (at 40 °C, and also at higher temperatures with derating considered). For AC-3, it supports up to 18 A at 415–690 V (and 18 A at 380–400 V, 60 °C). The maximum breaking capacity is 250 A cos φ = 0.45 at 440 V and 106 A at 690 V. These ratings reflect typical motor control and general use scenarios.
The AFC16-22-00-34 adheres to IEC/EN 60947-1 and 60947-4-1, UL 60947-1 and 60947-4-1, and CAN/CSA equivalents. It carries CE and UKCA declarations and BV, CB, DNV, and other certificates for global deployment. This ensures compliance for machinery across Europe, North America, and international markets.
Coil consumption is 8 VA holding at 50/60 Hz with pull-in values of 70 VA (50 Hz) and 66 VA (60 Hz). Power loss is 1.2 W per pole for AC-1 and 0.35 W per pole for AC-3. Lower coil energy reduces cabinet heat and energy costs, enabling denser panel layouts and lower cooling requirements in continuous operation scenarios.
The AFC platform supports add-on auxiliary contact blocks and a wide range of accessories to extend functionality. Its modular block design simplifies future expansions without replacing the base unit. Installation guides AF(C)09...38 and related manuals cover compatibility, wiring, and integration steps for seamless updates in evolving automation applications.
