Product Information
Extended Description
1SBL176063R2101 ABB: The AF16ZB-30-01K-21 is a 3 pole - 690 V IEC or 600 UL contactor with 1 built-in auxiliary contact and Push-in spring terminals, controlling motors up to 7.5 kW / 400 V AC (AC-3) or 10 hp / 480 V UL and switching power circuits up to 30 A (AC-1) or 30 A UL general use. Thanks to the AF technology, the contactor has a wide control voltage range (24-60 V 50/60 Hz and 20-60 V DC), managing large control voltage variations, reducing panel energy consumptions and ensuring distinct operations in unstable networks. Furthermore, surge protection is built-in, offering a compact solution. AF contactors have a block type design, can be easily extended with add-on auxiliary contact blocks and an additional wide range of accessories.

Wide control voltage range and surge protection establish dependable coil operation across 24–60 V AC, 50/60 Hz and 20–60 V DC. This translates to fewer false starts and reduced panel energy wastage, a critical efficiency gain in demanding industrial lines. The 3P 690 V main circuit supports AC-3 motor starting up to 10.5–18 A depending on voltage, enabling compact drives for motors up to 9 kW, which lowers hardware counts and simplifies wiring. An integrated 0 NC auxiliary contact improves interlocking and feedback in control circuits, enabling safer sequencing and easier diagnostics. Push-in spring terminals reduce commissioning time and improve connection reliability, while 3-pole block design allows straightforward expansion with add-on auxiliary contact blocks for future automation needs. DIN-rail mounting and compact footprint ease panel integration and upgrade paths without sweeping changes to existing layouts.

FAQs
This model supports DIN rail mounting on TH35-15 or TH35-7.5 rails, aligning with standard panel layouts for compact equipment. For fixed installations, two M4 screws (not supplied) allow secure screw mounting. The rugged block design also accommodates Add-on Auxiliary Contact Blocks to extend control functionality as needs evolve, reducing future redesign costs.
The device features a 3-pole main circuit rated up to 690 V with AC-3 current up to 10.5–18 A depending on voltage, and a control coil range of 24–60 V AC or 20–60 V DC at 50/60 Hz. The auxiliary contact is 1 NC, and the unit supports typical AC-1/AC-3 motor control in mid-range loads.
Yes. The block contactor conforms to IEC/EN 60947-4-1, IEC/EN 60947-1, UL 60947-4-1 and CSA C22.2 No. 60947-4-1 requirements, with IP20 protection on terminals. The product is documented for CE, UL/CSA and UKCA declarations, supporting global deployments in automotive, industrial, and rail applications.
Plan for 1 NC auxiliary contact and add-on blocks to expand control logic without replacing the base unit. Use push-in terminals for quick, vibration-resistant connections and consider AF technology for wide voltage tolerance. The device integrates with standard DIN rails and can be extended in future projects with auxiliary contact blocks, maintaining a compact footprint.
The wide control voltage tolerance reduces misstarts and energy waste, delivering measurable energy savings in panels with variable supply conditions. Built-in surge protection, low coil power, and minimal wiring effort cut maintenance time and downtime. The compact design and scalable accessory ecosystem lower total cost of ownership across multiple lines and future automation upgrades.
