Quick Summary

ABB 1SBL177005R1401 Block Contactor is a 3-pole motor control device for reliable panel start-up of motors in conveyors and pumps. In networks with voltage variation, AF technology maintains performance across 250–500 V 50/60 Hz and DC control, reducing nuisance tripping and energy waste. The design complies with IEC/EN 60947-4-1 and UL 60947-4-1, with CE and UKCA declarations and built‑in surge protection for compact, robust control panels. With a compact 45 mm width and DIN rail mounting, it scales easily through add-on auxiliary blocks, delivering cost-effective expansion and straightforward installation in industrial HVAC, water treatment, and material handling applications.

Product Information

Extended Description

1SBL177005R1401 ABB: The AF16-30-01K-14 is a 3 pole - 690 V IEC or 600 UL contactor with 1 built-in auxiliary contact and push-in spring terminals, controlling motors up to 7.5 kW / 400 V AC (AC-3) or 10 hp / 480 V UL and switching power circuits up to 30 A (AC-1) or 30 A UL general use. Thanks to the AF technology, the contactor has a wide control voltage range (250-500 V 50/60 Hz and DC), managing large control voltage variations, reducing panel energy consumptions and ensuring distinct operations in unstable networks. Furthermore, surge protection is built-in, offering a compact solution. AF contactors have a block type design, can be easily extended with add-on auxiliary contact blocks and an additional wide range of accessories.

FAQs

The 3-pole block contactor is designed for TH35-15 or TH35-7.5 DIN rails for quick rail mounting. Wire the main circuit with 0.5–4 mm² conductors to the push-in terminals, and use 0.5–2.5 mm² for the auxiliary and control circuits as specified. The device supports add-on auxiliary contact blocks for expanded contact configuration, allowing scalable control in new builds or retrofits with minimal panel disruption.
At 690 V and 60 °C, the Rated Operational Current AC-3 is 10.5 A, and AC-1 is 30 A. The device supports AC-3/AC-3e up to 18 A at lower voltages and varies with voltage according to the table. The Maximum Operating Voltage UL/CSA is 600 V for the main circuit, and it provides a comprehensive range for common motor and load switching in industrial panels.
Yes. With AF technology and a wide control voltage range, it tolerates voltage fluctuations common in conveyors and pumps. The unit is rated for -40 to 70 °C ambient temperatures and IP20 protection on terminals, making it suitable for typical factory and process environments. Its compact footprint and DIN-rail mounting simplify integration into existing panel layouts.
The product carries IEC/EN 60947-1 and 60947-4-1 compliance, UL 60947-4-1 and CSA equivalents, plus CE and UKCA declarations. It also provides RoHS/REACH declarations and CMRT packaging. This broad certification footprint supports global deployment in regulated industries and streamlines cross-border procurement.
AF technology stabilizes control voltages and reduces energy draw in auxiliary circuits, which lowers panel energy consumption over time. Built-in surge protection minimizes coil stress and nuisance trips, reducing wear and maintenance needs. The compact form factor and scalable auxiliary options lower initial wiring effort and future upgrade costs, delivering a favorable total cost of ownership in OEM and retrofit programs.
