Coil voltage compatibility and frequency adaptability → Enables direct interfacing with existing control circuits across regions, reducing the need for extra voltage converters and simplifying spares. This translates to faster commissioning and lower part-count in control panels. Application: machine builders and panel shops seeking universal coil support without custom solutions.Main and auxiliary contacts → 3 NO main contacts plus 1 NO and 1 NC auxiliary contact provide built-in signaling and interlock capability, reducing wiring complexity and integration time. Application: motor starters, conveyors, and automation loops where status feedback is essential.High voltage AC-1/AC-3 ratings and robust power handling → Rated operational currents up to 70 A AC-1 at 690 V and 25–40 A AC-3 depending on voltage, delivering up to 22 kW in typical AC-3 motor drives. Business impact: supports efficient motor control in demanding plant environments with fewer devices in a panel. Application: pumps, fans, and small-to-mid size conveyors.Compact DIN rail mounting and shared terminals → TH35 mounting options plus screw terminals streamline installation, reduce panel depth, and simplify maintenance. Width 67 mm, depth 119.5 mm, height 111 mm, weight 1.02 kg. Application: OEMs and panel builders prioritizing space-saving designs and scalable wiring layouts.Low coil and contact losses → Coil consumption averages around 150 VA pull-in and 20 VA holding, with per‑pole losses of 3 W (AC-1) and 1 W (AC-3). Benefit: lower energy draw, reduced heat in enclosures, and longer device life in dense control panels. Application: energy-conscious industrial installations with strict thermal budgeting.

FAQs
This contactor supports TH35-15 or TH35-7.5 DIN-rail mounting and can also be screw-mounted with two screws (M4 or M6) placed diagonally. Main circuit connections are screw terminals suitable for 1/2x 4...35 mm² or 6...35 mm², while auxiliary and control circuits use smaller flexible or rigid conductors (0.75...2.5 mm²). This simplifies panel layout and reduces wiring complexity in retrofit projects.
The coil operates at 110 V AC for 50 Hz or 110–120 V AC for 60 Hz, with a rated control circuit voltage provided for both frequencies. Coil consumption averages 150 VA pull-in and about 20 VA holding, enabling direct interfacing with standard control relays and PLC outputs without additional isolation components.
Yes. The AFC40-30-11-84 supports AC-3 operation at high voltages, with rated currents up to 40 A at 690 V (depending on temperature and duty). It also provides 22 kW rated operational power for typical AC-3 loads. This makes it suitable for driving motors, conveyors, and similar loads in hazardous or space-constrained panels.
The device complies with IEC/EN 60947-1 and IEC/EN 60947-4-1, UL 60947-4-1, CSA C22.2, and UL 60335-2-40 related to safety of electrical equipment. It also carries CE and UKCA conformity marks, along with related declarations and certificates (UL, BV, CB, CCC, CQC, DNV, RINA). This supports global procurement and regulatory compliance in different markets.
With low per-pole power losses (3 W AC-1 and 1 W AC-3) and compact dimensions, heat generation is minimized in dense panels, reducing cooling requirements. The built-in auxiliary contact and compatibility with add-on blocks simplify maintenance and future expansion, lowering spare-part inventory and retrofit costs while offering reliable long-term motor control in industrial environments.
