FAQs
Mount the device on a TH35-15 or TH35-7.5 DIN rail per IEC 60715. Use two M4 or two M6 screws diagonally for secure fixation. Connect the main circuit with flexible or rigid conductors in the 1/2x 4 to 35 mm² range, tightened to 4 N·m. For the control circuit, use 0.75 to 2.5 mm² conductors and tighten to 1.2 N·m. Ensure IP10 protection at main terminals and IP20 at coil terminals.
The coil supports 175 V AC at 50 Hz and 208 V AC at 60 Hz, enabling compatibility with common control schemes. This affects wiring by aligning the control supply with the specified coil voltage, reducing miswiring risk and preventing coil damage. Plan the control circuit accordingly and verify PLC or relay outputs match the 50/60 Hz coil requirements.
Yes, the AFC family is designed for extension with add-on auxiliary contact blocks and various accessories. Adding auxiliary contacts enhances signaling and interlocking in multi-loop or safety circuits without replacing the base device. This is particularly useful in conveyors, pumps, and machine controls where additional feedback is required for sequencing and protection.
The device complies with IEC/EN 60947-1 and 60947-4-1, UL 60947-1 and 60947-4-1, and carries CE, UKCA marks along with UL/CSA certifications. It also aligns with BV, CB, CCC, DNV, and RINA attestations, supporting regulatory conformity across markets and simplifying cross-border procurement and audits.
4-pole contactors reduce wiring complexity and enable reliable motor drives with fewer components, contributing to lower installation time and maintenance costs. With a robust 70 A at 690 V rating, long-term life is supported by appropriate control of inrush and switching frequency, while modular add-ons help tailor signaling and safety without frequent part replacements.
