FAQs
The AFC65-30-11-81 is a 3-pole block contactor designed for AC-3 motor control loads up to 37 kW at voltages up to 690 V. It includes a built-in 1 NO + 1 NC auxiliary contact, making it ideal for conveyors, pumps, fans, and other medium‑to‑high power drives where reliable switching and easy monitoring are required.
This ABB contactor complies with IEC/EN 60947-1 and 60947-4-1, UL 60947-4-1, and CSA C22.2 No. 60947-4-1, with additional references to CE/UKCA declarations where applicable. These certifications support global deployment in compliant control panels and end‑use equipment.
The coil operates at 24 V AC with 50/60 Hz supply. Coil consumption includes a holding value of about 20 V·A and pull-in values around 150–151 V·A, with typical operate times from energization to contact opening/closing in the 3–21 ms range, depending on switching conditions and temperature.
Install on a standard DIN rail (TH35-15 or TH35-7.5) or mount with two screws. Main circuit terminals accept 6–35 mm² flexible or rigid conductors, while auxiliary and control circuits support smaller cross-sections (0.75–2.5 mm² and 1–2.5 mm² respectively). Use 4 N·m for main circuit tightening, and follow the included wire stripping lengths (16 mm main, 10 mm control).
Expect up to 3600 mechanical switching cycles and 1200 electrical cycles per hour for AC-3 operations, with rated current up to 65 A and 37 kW when operating at 415–690 V. Plan routine checks for contacts and auxiliaries, verify tightening torques, and keep spare auxiliary contact blocks available for quick replacements to minimize downtime.
