Quick Summary

Block Contactor ABB 1SBL397561R1200 enables reliable motor control for industrial conveyors and pumps. In practice, maintaining consistent control voltage and surge protection can be a major challenge in harsh electrical environments; this device addresses that with a wide coil voltage range and built-in protections. It meets essential standards, including IEC/EN 60947-1 and 60947-4-1, plus UL/CSA compliance, giving confidence in mixed-market installations. The AF technology allows a control voltage range of 48–130 V at 50/60 Hz or DC operation, reducing panel energy waste and simplifying inventory. With compact dimensions and DIN-rail mounting, it also supports quick exchanges and scalable protection in control schemes and automation panels. This delivers lower total cost of ownership and faster time-to-production for OEMs and integrators.

Product Information

Extended Description

1SBL397561R1200 ABB: The AF80B-22-00-12 is a 4 pole - 1000 V IEC or 600 UL contactor with screw terminals, controlling motors up to 37 kW / 400 V AC (AC-3) and switching power circuits up to 125 A (AC-1) or 105 A UL general use. Thanks to the AF technology, the contactor has a wide control voltage range (48-130 V 50/60 Hz and DC), managing large control voltage variations, reducing panel energy consumptions and ensuring distinct operations in unstable networks. Furthermore, surge protection is built-in, offering a compact solution. AF contactors have a block type design, can be easily extended with add-on auxiliary contact blocks and an additional wide range of accessories.

FAQs

The contactor is designed for TH35-15 DIN rail mounting, complying with standard DIN rail dimensions. Use 2 x M4 or 2 x M6 screws for panel mounting if required, and connect main and control circuits via screw terminals for secure, vibration-resistant installation.
Rated Operational Current AC-1 (Ie) at 690 V is 125 A (60 °C), 105 A (60 °C at 690 V), and 90 A (70 °C). Rated Operational Current AC-3 (Ie) varies by voltage and temperature, e.g., 80 A at 415–440–690 V and up to 25 A at 1000 V. Rated Power in AC-3 per pole is up to 45 kW depending on voltage and configuration.
Yes. The product extends its data sheet coverage to rolling-stock applications, with a data sheet focused on motor control for rolling stock. It supports high-energy switching with built-in surge protection, wide control-voltage tolerance, and robust compliance documentation relevant to rail applications.
The device conforms to IEC/EN 60947-1 and 60947-4-1, UL 60947-1 and UL 60947-4-1, and CSA equivalents, with CE/UKCA declarations. This ensures safety, interoperability, and regulatory compliance across global installations, reducing risk during audits and enabling multi-region deployment.
AF technology reduces energy waste by tolerating large control-voltage variations, simplifies inventory with a single coil range (48–130 V), and lowers maintenance through built-in surge protection. In practice this translates to lower energy costs, fewer panel upgrades, and faster commissioning, delivering tangible ROI in variable-power environments.
