Quick Summary

ABB 1SFL427002R3411 Block Contactor is a three-pole device switching motors up to 690 V. In practice, voltage swings can degrade coil performance and waste panel energy. This product carries CE and UL/CSA approvals, plus RoHS and REACH compliance for global deployment. Together with its wide coil range and integrated protections, it reduces wiring, improves panel efficiency, and lowers life-cycle costs. By combining compact form with compatible add-on auxiliary blocks, the unit scales from small machines to larger drives. And its protection features support reliable operation in challenging environments, including wide ambient temperatures and variable power conditions. Ideal for automation projects.

Product Information

Extended Description

1SFL427002R3411 ABB: The AF116-30-11B-34 is a 3 pole - 690 V IEC or 600 V UL contactor with pre-mounted auxiliary contacts and Main Circuit Bars, controlling motors up to 55 kW / 400 V AC (AC-3) or 75 hp / 480 V UL and switching power circuits up to 160 A (AC-1) or 160 A UL general use. Thanks to the AF technology, the contactor has a wide control voltage range (250-500 V 50/60 Hz and DC), managing large control voltage variations, reducing panel energy consumptions and ensuring distinct operations in unstable networks. Furthermore, surge protection is built-in, offering a compact solution. AF contactors have a block type design, can be easily extended with add-on auxiliary contact blocks and an additional wide range of accessories.

AF technology delivers a wide coil control range of 250–500 V AC (50/60 Hz) and DC operation, enabling stable operation in networks with voltage variation. The business impact is reduced energy waste and fewer false trips, improving panel energy efficiency and overall system reliability. This applies to motor control and general power switching in industrial automation, where machine builders need dependable actuation despite fluctuations. Integrated surge protection and a compact block contour minimize external components and panel space, reducing total installed costs and easing wiring during commissioning in new equipment lines. Three-pole configuration with one auxiliary NO contact offers ready-to-wire feedback and status; rated AC-3 up to 75 kW at 440–500 V and 65 A at 690 V, with 6 W power loss per pole. The AF family supports add-on auxiliary blocks and accessories for future expansion. Global compliance with CE, UL/CSA, RoHS, REACH, and other certificates underpins regulatory readiness for multinational projects. The unit's robust mechanical durability and broad operating temperature range suit heavy-duty manufacturing lines, while its compact footprint simplifies panel layouts and cooling requirements.

FAQs

Install the device on a panel with the main circuit bars, ensuring net width 90 mm, depth 142.5 mm, and height 150 mm. Connect the three main NO contacts to the motor circuit and wire the one auxiliary NO contact for status feedback. Use proper torque on terminals and confirm IP40 protection for auxiliary terminals.
The coil operates from 250 to 500 V, covering 50/60 Hz AC and DC operation. Coil pull-in and holding characteristics vary with voltage: typical pull-in around 260 V·A and holding around 16.1 V·A at rated voltage, with DC pull-in approximately 230 W. This enables reliable actuation across fluctuating supply conditions.
Yes. It supports AC-3 operation with Ie up to 116 A at 380/400 V and 65 A at 690 V, and Pe up to 55 kW at 690 V or 75 kW at 440/500 V. This makes it suitable for motors in pumps, conveyors, and fans within standard industrial drives.
The device carries CE documentation and UL/CSA approvals, along with RoHS and REACH declarations. It also has a broad set of certifications including CCC, UKCA, EAC, BV, DNV, RINA, ABS, and UL certificate listings, supporting global regulatory compliance and customer audits.
Mechanical durability is rated at up to 5 million cycles, with low coil power losses of about 6 W per pole. The compact design and add-on auxiliary options simplify servicing, while integrated surge protection reduces external components, lowering maintenance costs and improving system uptime in demanding manufacturing environments.
