FAQs
Yes. The AF116‑series block contactors use a block-type design that supports add‑on auxiliary contact blocks, enabling tailored control circuits without changing the main wiring. This simplifies upgrades, reduces panel space, and keeps wiring neat while preserving switching performance for 3‑phase motors up to 55 kW at 400 V AC.
For AC‑3 at 60 °C, the device provides 65 A at 690 V, 116 A at 380/400 V, and 116 A at 440/380 V variants, with AC‑3e values closely matching these figures. For AC‑1, it handles 160 A at 690 V (40 °C), 145 A at 690 V (60 °C), and 130 A at 690 V (70 °C). These ratings guide motor sizing and fault tolerance.
Plan for 220–240 V control voltage (50/60 Hz) and coil protection at IP20, with main terminals IP00. Use 2 x 10–70 mm² or 1 x 10–95 mm² conductors for main circuit and ensure proper torque on terminals (Main 8 N·m, Control 1 N·m, Auxiliary 1 N·m). The device supports flexible wiring and secure clamping in standard control panels.
The contactor includes CE and UKCA declarations of conformity, UL/CSA certifications, and RoHS/REACH compliance. It also supports end‑of‑life disassembly instructions and has an Environmental Product Declaration (EPD) for AF116–AF146. These certifications facilitate global procurement, regulatory compliance, and sustainable product stewardship.
The device offers 5 million mechanical cycles and a fast operate time of 15–20 ms (coil de‑energization) and 20–35 ms (coil energization). Coil consumption ranges from 2.5 W to 8 V·A holding power, depending on voltage and frequency. Regular inspection of terminal torque and connector integrity is recommended for continuous reliability.
