Quick Summary

ABB 1SFL427062R1322 Contactor provides robust motor control for 3-pole drives in industrial equipment. In unstable networks, control voltage drift wastes energy and can cause misoperation; this unit tolerates 100–250 V AC/DC control signals with stable switching. Certified to IEC 60947-4-1 and UL 60947-4-1 with CE and CSA conformity, ensuring cross-border suitability. Coupled with AF family accessories, it supports add-on auxiliary contacts and modular expansion while delivering energy-efficient operation. For panel builders and OEMs, the compact block design reduces panel depth and simplifies wiring, while the integrated surge protection minimizes electrical disturbance. With a rated AC-3 current up to 116 A at 415 V and 65 A at 690 V, it handles common motor loads with confidence.

Product Information

Extended Description

1SFL427062R1322 ABB: The AF116B-30-22RT-13 is a 3 pole - 690 V IEC or 600 V UL contactor with pre-mounted auxiliary contacts and ring tongue ferrules, controlling motors up to 55 kW / 400 V AC (AC-3) or 75 hp / 480 V UL and switching power circuits up to 160 A (AC-1) or 160 A UL general use. Thanks to the AF technology, the contactor has a wide control voltage range (100-250 V 50/60 Hz and DC), managing large control voltage variations, reducing panel energy consumptions and ensuring distinct operations in unstable networks. Furthermore, surge protection is built-in, offering a compact solution. AF contactors have a block type design, can be easily extended with add-on auxiliary contact blocks and an additional wide range of accessories.

Three-pole block contactor with pre-mounted auxiliary contacts NO/NO NC enables compact, plug-and-play wiring, reducing panel space and labor time, which translates to lower installation costs and faster time-to-operate in conveyors, pumps, and fans. The wide control voltage range of 100–250 V AC/DC decreases wiring complexity and improves reliability in environments with voltage fluctuations, delivering steadier motor starts and fewer nuisance trips on long cable runs. Built-in surge protection protects both the device and downstream drives, reducing unplanned downtime and protecting critical loads in machine lines and material handling systems. AF technology supports easy extension with add-on auxiliary contact blocks, enabling scalable control schemes without replacing the base unit, which lowers total cost of ownership. The compact footprint and bar terminal arrangement simplify panel design and facilitate retrofits in existing electrical cabinets. High mechanical durability (millions of cycles) and low per-pole losses contribute to lower maintenance costs and cooler operation in continuous-running applications. Compatibility with UL/CSA and IEC standards reduces compliance risk during audits and cross-border deployments, while the option to combine with other AF components provides a future-proof control platform for evolving automation needs.

FAQs

The AF116B-30-22RT-13 is designed as a block contactor in the AF family and is compatible with add-on auxiliary contact blocks. It features a 3P main circuit with bars for main connections and a footprint that aligns with standard AF mounting patterns, enabling seamless retrofits in existing ABB control panels without major rewiring.
For AC-3 at 690 V, the rated operational current is 65 A (at 55 °C). In comparison, AC-3 ratings at 415 V in the same family reach 116 A, enabling selection across a range of motor sizes while maintaining reliable switching in industrial drives.
Yes, the coil accepts DC operation in the 100–250 V range, as well as AC control voltages within the same band. This wide tolerance reduces control wiring issues in panels powered from mixed supply systems and improves start reliability in networks with voltage fluctuations.
Key certifications include IEC 60947-4-1 and UL 60947-4-1, with additional CE and CSA conformity. These align with international electrical safety and performance requirements, supporting regional deployments and simplifying supplier qualification processes.
Mechanical durability is rated at about 5 million operations, and the design supports up to 3P configurations with 2 NO auxiliary contacts. Energy efficiency is enhanced by low coil power loss (6 W per pole) and integrated surge protection, reducing heat in panels and extending service life while lowering maintenance frequency and total cost of ownership.
