FAQs
The AF190-30-22-42 is a 3P block contactor designed for standard panel mounting with main circuit bars and coil terminals rated IP20. It supports flexible and rigid wiring for auxiliary circuits (0.75–2.5 mm² ferrule or solid 1–4 mm²) and accepts add-on auxiliary contact blocks to tailor interlock and signaling schemes. For installation, use the recommended M8 screws for main circuit connections and follow the tightening torques (Main Circuit 14–31 N·m; Auxiliary Circuit 1 N·m) to ensure reliable, code-compliant assembly and long service life in industrial environments.
The AF190-30-22-42 provides AC-3 and AC-3e ratings suitable for motor starting and power switching. At 415–690 V, AC-3 current is 190 A (approximate across various voltages), with AC-1 ratings up to 250 A at 1000 V depending on temperature and voltage. The device supports high breaking capacity and motor protection in line with IEC 60947-4-1 standards. For design, refer to specific I_e values at target voltages and ambient temperatures to ensure the selected contactor meets your motor’s full-load current and surge requirements.
Yes, the AF190-30-22-42 carries CE and UKCA declarations of conformity and UL/cUL certificates for universal use in North American and other markets. It also aligns with RoHS II requirements and has an Environmental Product Declaration (EPD) for AF190–AF205 models. These certifications support compliance in regulated industries and facilitate global procurement, installation in safety systems, and responsibility in eco-conscious projects.
AF technology yields faster operation and reduced panel energy consumption, improving overall machine efficiency and lowering energy-related operating costs. With a mechanical durability of up to 5 million cycles and a robust 1000 V insulation rating, maintenance intervals can be extended, and downtime minimized. The integrated surge protection reduces wear on drives and cables, contributing to a lower total cost of ownership over the equipment lifecycle, particularly in high-cycle or demanding motor-drive applications.
The AF190 family supports add-on auxiliary contact blocks and a wide range of accessories to customize control logic, interlocking, and signaling for motor control schemes. Compatibility includes flexible connection options for auxiliary circuits and main circuit extensions, enabling engineers to tailor the contactor to specific machine control architectures and PLC interfaces, while preserving the compact footprint and streamlined wiring that reduce installation and commissioning time.
