Compliance with CE, UL/CSA, and UKCA standards helps ensure safety and global readiness across European, North American, and UK installations. Built for motor protection and control in harsh environments, it offers surge protection, extendable auxiliary contacts, and a compact footprint that reduces panel space and wiring. With AF technology delivering wide coil voltage tolerance, customers benefit from fewer part numbers and improved energy efficiency, supporting lower total cost of ownership.

Product Information

Extended Description

1SFL487063R1422 ABB: The AF190B-30-22-14 is a 3 pole - 1000 V IEC or 600 V UL contactor with pre-mounted auxiliary contacts and standard ferrules, controlling motors up to 90 kW / 400 V AC (AC-3) or 125 hp / 480 V UL and switching power circuits up to 275 A (AC-1) or 250 A UL general use. Thanks to the AF technology, the contactor has a wide control voltage range (250-500 V 50/60 Hz ), managing large control voltage variations, reducing panel energy consumptions and ensuring distinct operations in unstable networks. Furthermore, surge protection is built-in, offering a compact solution. AF contactors have a block type design, can be easily extended with add-on auxiliary contact blocks and an additional wide range of accessories.

AF technology provides a wide control voltage range of 250 to 500 V, enabling a single coil family to cover multiple supply variations and reducing inventory costs while improving reliability in networks with voltage fluctuations. The block contactor design includes built-in surge protection, which minimizes electrical transients and protects sensitive switching components, translating to higher uptime in demanding environments and less downtime for maintenance. The 3-pole main contacts (NO) with two auxiliary NO and two NC contacts support complex sequencing in motor protection and control applications, allowing you to implement starter configurations without external modules. Pre-mounted auxiliary contacts and standard ferrules simplify installation and field maintenance, accelerating commissioning and reducing wiring errors. The AF family is extendable with add-on contact blocks, enabling scalable control schemes for growing automation needs. Compliance with IEC/EN 60947-1, 60947-4-1, UL/CSA, and other global standards adds regulatory peace of mind and simplifies cross-border projects. With a compact 105 mm width, 153 mm depth, and 196 mm height, the unit fits tight panels while delivering up to 90 kW AC-3 switching capacity and 275 A AC-1, ensuring robust performance in drive systems and conveyors. The device’s kinetic durability—down to 5 million mechanical operations and 300 cycles per hour—supports lengthy service life in continuous operation environments, providing a favorable total cost of ownership for OEMs and panel builders. Compatibility with common mounting practices and bar terminal main circuits facilitates quick replacement and streamlined maintenance programs, which is critical for planned downtime windows and service contracts in industrial automation.

FAQs

This 3-pole block contactor features pre-mounted auxiliary contacts (2 NO and 2 NC) and standard ferrules, with main circuit terminals designed for bars. It supports add-on auxiliary contact blocks for extended control functionality and is compatible with common CAD drawings for fast integration into control panels.
AF technology provides a wide control voltage tolerance of 250–500 V for both AC and DC operation, reducing the number of coil variants. This simplifies panel design, lowers stocking requirements, and improves performance in networks with voltage fluctuations, contributing to fewer nuisance trips and better energy efficiency.
Yes. The AF contactor aligns with CE and UL/CSA general-use ratings and UKCA compliance, reflecting broad regulatory acceptance. It also adheres to multiple standards including IEC/EN 60947-1 and 60947-4-1, supporting safe integration in European, North American, and UK installations.
Consider the compact footprint (105 mm W x 153 mm D x 196 mm H) and bar-type main terminals when planning panel space. The unit weighs about 2.4 kg and can be extended with add-on auxiliary blocks. Ensure adequate space for wiring and cooling, and verify compatibility with existing auxiliary contact configurations.
The device offers 5 million mechanical operations and a maximum of 300 switching cycles per hour. With built-in surge protection and robust IEC/UL compliance, it supports long service life in continuous operation, contributing to lower maintenance costs and improved total cost of ownership for OEMs.
