Part Number: 1SFL487262R1322
Quick Summary
AF190B-40-22RT-13 Contactor is a four‑pole motor controller designed to start and stop motors up to 90 kW at 400 V AC in rugged industrial environments. In many control panels, voltage fluctuations and inconsistent coil drive cause unreliable performance and energy waste; this solution addresses those pain points with a wide control voltage range and built‑in surge protection. The device carries CE and UKCA marks for European installations and UL/CSA General Use certification for North American use, with UR and cURus compatibility for broader compliance. By combining AF technology with a compact, extensible design, ABB helps reduce panel complexity, wiring, and operating costs while improving reliability in demanding automation applications.
Product Information
Extended Description
1SFL487262R1322 ABB: The AF190B-40-22RT-13 is a 4 pole - 1000 V IEC or 600 V UL contactor with pre-mounted auxiliary contacts and ring tongue ferrules, controlling motors up to 90 kW / 400 V AC (AC-3) / and switching power circuits up to 275 A (AC-1) or 230 A UL general use. Thanks to the AF technology, the contactor has a wide control voltage range (100-250 V 50/60 Hz and DC), managing large control voltage variations, reducing panel energy consumptions and ensuring distinct operations in unstable networks. Furthermore, surge protection is built-in, offering a compact solution. AF contactors have a block type design, can be easily extended with add-on auxiliary contact blocks and an additional wide range of accessories.

Feature → Business Impact → Application The AF190B-40-22RT-13 employs AF technology and a wide control voltage range (AC 50/60 Hz and DC 100–250 V) to maintain precise actuation despite voltage variations, reducing nuisance trips and energy waste in unstable networks. This translates to lower energy costs and improved line uptime in conveyors, pumps, and fans that operate on diverse electrical conditions. Feature → Built‑in surge protection reduces external components and simplifies panel design, delivering a more compact solution without compromising protection. Benefit: easier wiring, reduced panel space, and enhanced reliability on critical motor starts in process lines and material handling. Feature → Four main NO contacts plus two NO and two NC auxiliary contacts enable robust control logic and feedback; application: direct integration with control relays and PLCs for motor protection schemes. Feature → Pre‑mounted auxiliary contacts and ring tongue ferrules streamline installation and field servicing, decreasing commissioning time and fault likelihood on new builds or retrofits. Feature → Block type design and expandable with add‑on auxiliary blocks allow scalable control architectures, supporting future maintenance and expansion without replacing the base device, which lowers total cost of ownership. Feature → Rated for 1000 V main circuit with AC‑1 up to 250 A and AC‑3 up to 190 A at common industrial voltages; application: motor protection and high‑power switching in steel, mining, and water treatment OEMs. Feature → Energy and life efficiency are enhanced by low coil consumption (holding at max rated voltage 7 V·A; pull‑in at max rated voltage 220–250 V depending on frequency), reducing heat in control panels and extending component life in high‑duty environments.
