Quick Summary

The ABB AF205-30-11-31 Contactor is a three-pole switch designed to reliably control motors up to 110 kW at 400 V AC. When panel designers contend with fluctuating control voltages and wasted energy, this device’s wide control voltage range helps stabilize operation and reduces panel energy consumption. It carries UL/CSA general-use ratings at 1000 V and CE/UKCA declarations, with coil terminals protected to IP20 while main terminals maintain IP00 protection, aligning with global standards. Designed for scalable motor protection and control, it integrates easily into an AF-series control scheme and supports add-on auxiliary blocks and accessories for future expansion.

Product Information

Extended Description

1SFL527002R3111 ABB: The AF205-30-11-31 is a 3 pole - 1000 V IEC or 600 V UL contactor with Main Circuit Bars, controlling motors up to 110 kW / 400 V AC (AC-3) or 150 hp / 480 V UL and switching power circuits up to 350 A (AC-1) or 300 A UL general use. Thanks to the AF technology, the contactor has a wide control voltage range (24-60 V 50/60 Hz and 20-60 V DC), managing large control voltage variations, reducing panel energy consumptions and ensuring distinct operations in unstable networks. Furthermore, surge protection is built-in, offering a compact solution. AF contactors have a block type design, can be easily extended with add-on auxiliary contact blocks and an additional wide range of accessories.

FAQs

Yes. The AF205-30-11-31 is designed as a block contactor in the ABB AF family, featuring a modular block-type design that accepts add-on auxiliary contact blocks. It aligns with AF-series mounting standards, enabling straightforward expansion and wiring without major panel modifications.
Coil control voltage ranges are 24-60 V AC (50/60 Hz) and 20-60 V DC. Coil consumption includes holding and pull-in values: holding at max rated voltage is 3–5 W (AC frequencies), with pull-in performance specified as 165 V·A at 50 Hz and 165 V·A at 60 Hz. These figures support stable operation across varying supply conditions.
The AF205-30-11-31 supports motors up to 110 kW at 400 V AC (AC-3) and 150 hp at 480 V UL. It provides AC-3 rated current up to 205 A at common voltages (e.g., 415–690 V) and up to 100 A at 1000 V, making it well-suited for heavy-duty conveyors, pumps, and fans in industrial settings.
This contactor carries CE and UKCA declarations for the European market, UL/CSA general-use ratings, and UL certificates for AF190–AF370 variants. It also meets RoHS/REACH requirements and supports 1000 V insulation and 8 kV impulse withstand, ensuring regulatory compliance across multiple regions.
The built-in surge protection, scalable accessory options, and AF-series efficiency contribute to lower spares inventories and reduced downtime. With a mechanical durability of about 5 million cycles and optimized coil energy use, maintenance windows are longer and operational costs are lowered in high-cycle motor control applications.
