Quick Summary
Block Contactor ABB 1SFL527002R3400 is a three-pole device that reliably starts and stops motors up to 110 kW at 400 V AC (AC-3). In dynamic manufacturing environments, coil voltage fluctuations can cause nuisance tripping and reduced efficiency; AF technology delivers a wide control voltage range of 250–500 V (and DC operation), improving stability and reducing energy waste. The unit features built-in surge protection and a compact block design that simplifies panel layouts and serviceability. With extensive certifications and declarations (CE, UL/CSA, RoHS/REACH, UKCA), it supports global sourcing and compliance. For OEMs and panel builders, the AF family offers scalable accessories and straightforward extension with auxiliary blocks, delivering reliable performance and lower installation costs over the product life cycle.

FAQs
When installing the ABB 1SFL527002R3400, ensure mounting on a suitable panel with 105 mm width and 169.5 mm depth space for the main circuit bars. Use appropriate terminal blocks and verify IP40 protection for auxiliary terminals. Ensure ambient temperature remains within -25 to 55°C and that the enclosure supports 3000 m for altitude without derating. Confirm compatibility with add‑on auxiliary blocks prior to wiring.
For AC‑3 operation, the unit provides 205 A at 415/440/690 V and up to 165 A at 690 V for 55 °C. For AC‑1 operation, ratings include up to 275 A at 1000 V (40 °C) and 250 A at 1000 V (60 °C). The device switches up to 110 kW at 400 V (AC‑3) and supports a wide HP range across various UL/CSA voltages.
Yes, the AF technology includes built‑in surge protection. The coil accepts 250–500 V for 50/60 Hz operation and 250–500 V DC, enabling reliable operation despite voltage fluctuations common in plant power. Coil consumption is 260 V·A during pull‑in and 16.1 V·A holding, with overall power loss of about 8 W per pole at rated conditions.
The AF contactor range carries CE and UKCA declarations, UL/cUL certifications, and rohs/reach compliance. Additional certificates include UL certificates for specific variants, ABS/DNV/DNV‑GL verifications, and other regional approvals. This breadth supports global procurement and lifecycle compliance for multinational facilities.
The AF family reduces energy waste due to voltage variation and solid surge protection, leading to lower energy costs and fewer nuisance trips. Its modular block design enables easy expansion with add‑on auxiliary contacts, reducing wiring and downtime during upgrades. High mechanical durability and long service life further improve total cost of ownership for OEMs and automation projects.
