ABB AF205B-30-22RT-12 Contactor - UL/CSA 1000V
Part Number: 1SFL527062R1222
Quick Summary
ABB AF205B-30-22RT-12 Contactor is a three-pole, 1000 V rated device designed for robust motor control in industrial plants. Many installations struggle with voltage variation and energy waste; AF technology's wide control voltage range mitigates both. It carries CE and UL/CSA with optional UKCA and CCC to support global compliance. Compact design with built-in surge protection reduces panel size and energy loss. Operators gain predictable behavior in unstable networks thanks to the 48-130 V AC/DC control coil tolerance, reducing nuisance trips. The device is ready for integration with add-on auxiliary contact blocks and ABB accessories, enabling scalable control architectures.
Product Information
Extended Description
1SFL527062R1222 ABB: The AF205B-30-22RT-12 is a 3 pole - 1000 V IEC or 600 V UL contactor with pre-mounted auxiliary contacts and ring tongue ferrules, controlling motors up to 110 kW / 400 V AC (AC-3) or 150 hp / 480 V UL and switching power circuits up to 350 A (AC-1) or 300 A UL general use. Thanks to the AF technology, the contactor has a wide control voltage range (48-130 V 50/60 Hz and DC), managing large control voltage variations, reducing panel energy consumptions and ensuring distinct operations in unstable networks. Furthermore, surge protection is built-in, offering a compact solution. AF contactors have a block type design, can be easily extended with add-on auxiliary contact blocks and an additional wide range of accessories.

FAQs
The AF205B-30-22RT-12 is a 3-pole block contactor designed for 3-phase motors in 400 V networks. It uses a main circuit with bars and ships with pre-mounted auxiliary contacts (2 NO, 2 NC). Wiring can be extended via add-on auxiliary blocks, which simplifies control logic integration and reduces panel complexity during panel build or retrofit projects.
For AC-3 operation at 690 V, the device supports 165 A, while at 415–440 V it reaches 205 A, and at 1000 V it provides 100 A for AC-3. For AC-1 operation, ratings reach up to 350 A at lower voltages and 275 A at 1000 V. These figures guide motor sizing and drive selection in industrial apps.
This contactor features CE and UL/CSA certifications, with optional UKCA and CCC markings. These approvals indicate compliance with essential safety, performance, and environmental requirements across Europe and North America, facilitating regional procurement, reducing compliance risk, and supporting certification-driven installations in regulated facilities.
Yes. The AF contactors employ a modular block design that accepts add-on auxiliary contact blocks. This enables expanding control and signaling capabilities without replacing the main device, supporting scalable automation architectures, easier upgrades, and lower upfront capital expenditure when system requirements grow.
Designed for durability, the unit provides up to 5 million mechanical cycles and can operate at up to 300 cycles per hour. Its surge protection and robust construction reduce nuisance trips and wear. Regular inspection of contacts and coil health, plus integrated disassembly guidance, helps maximize uptime in demanding industrial settings.
