Product Information

Extended Description

1SFL527062R1322 ABB: The AF205B-30-22RT-13 is a 3 pole - 1000 V IEC or 600 V UL contactor with pre-mounted auxiliary contacts and ring tongue ferrules, controlling motors up to 110 kW / 400 V AC (AC-3) or 150 hp / 480 V UL and switching power circuits up to 350 A (AC-1) or 300 A UL general use. Thanks to the AF technology, the contactor has a wide control voltage range (100-250 V 50/60 Hz and DC), managing large control voltage variations, reducing panel energy consumptions and ensuring distinct operations in unstable networks. Furthermore, surge protection is built-in, offering a compact solution. AF contactors have a block type design, can be easily extended with add-on auxiliary contact blocks and an additional wide range of accessories.

AF technology provides a wide control voltage range of 100–250 V AC/DC, enabling reliable coil operation despite supply variations. This reduces panel energy consumption and nuisance trips, improving line availability and uptime. The AF approach also supports DC operation, making it suitable for mixed-control environments in material handling and packaging lines. For new builds, the robust coil performance simplifies supplier selection and lowers risk during installation. Three main NO contacts plus two NO and two NC auxiliary contacts enable full motor control and signaling without extra hardware. This reduces wiring complexity, minimizes interconnection errors, and shortens commissioning times. In practice, engineers wire start/stop loops and PLC feedback in a single housing, enabling straightforward integration with ABB protection devices and the broader motor control ecosystem. Rated operational power and current are designed for demanding AC-3 duty; for example, up to 132 kW at 1000 V and 205 A at 440–480 V, with 165 A at 690 V and 100 A at 1000 V depending on voltage class. This performance supports reliable motor starts and acceleration without oversizing components. Paired with surge protection, the contactor handles transients typical in pumps and extruders, reducing fault rates and maintenance. Add-on auxiliary contacts allow expansion without reorganizing the cabinet, and the block design makes retrofits straightforward. The compatibility with multiple accessories and standard DIN rail architecture accelerates installation and future upgrades, while main-circuit bars offer robust current handling and compact footprint. Durability figures include 5 million mechanical operations and 8 W power loss per pole under rated conditions, delivering predictable life-cycle costs. With a maximum of 300 cycles per hour for switching, it suits mid- to high-demand manufacturing lines where reliability matters and maintenance windows are limited.

FAQs

The AF205B-30-22RT-13 is a 3P contactor with 3 main NO contacts and 2 NO plus 2 NC auxiliary contacts. Wire the main circuit to the bars terminals and connect the coil to a 100–250 V control source. Use the auxiliary contacts for signaling or interlock circuits, ensuring a proper control-circuit isolation and a clean PLC feedback path.
Coil voltage range is 100–250 V for both AC and DC operation. Coil power loss is 8 W per pole under rated conditions; pull-in at rated voltage is 190–220 V depending on the operation frequency, and holding energy at max rated voltage is 7 V·A, enabling efficient continuous control without excessive heat.
Yes. The AF205B-30-22RT-13 supports AC-3 duty with ratings up to 205 A at 440–480 V and up to 165 A at 690 V, with 132 kW at 1000 V. This makes it suitable for starting and running motors in conveyors, pumps, and fans while keeping startup currents within design limits.
This contactor is CE and UKCA certified, UL/cURus listed, and supported by RoHS/REACH declarations, CCC and EAC credentials, and additional ABB ecosystem declarations. These certifications help meet regulatory requirements for global deployments and ensure safe operation in diverse markets.
AF technology provides a wide control voltage range and built‑in surge protection, reducing panel energy consumption and downtime from voltage-related trips. With 5 million mechanical operations, 3P design, and modular auxiliary contacts, maintenance intervals are predictable, allowing teams to plan replacements and upgrades with lower total cost of ownership.
