AF technology with a wide control voltage range provides robust operation across fluctuating networks, reducing energy waste and panel heat. This translates to tangible business outcomes like lower energy bills and improved reliability in variable plant conditions. The built-in surge protection enhances motor protection during voltage transients, decreasing nuisance tripping and unplanned downtime in conveyors and pumps. The 3-pole main circuit rated up to 1000 V with AC-3 performance up to 132 kW at 415 V enables efficient motor starting and reliable operation in heavy-load applications, such as metalworking lines and material handling systems. A compact block design that accepts add-on auxiliary contact blocks supports scalable control logic and modular maintenance, reducing spare-part complexity and downtime. The AF technology also improves energy efficiency by tolerating control voltage variations without compromising switching performance, a critical factor for energy-conscious plants. Connection options include flexible and rigid cable capacity for main circuits (2 x 70–185 mm² flexible; 1 x 185–240 mm² rigid Al or 2 x 70–185 mm² rigid Cu), simplifying installation in panel builds and minimizing wiring errors. The device’s IP20 coil terminals and IP00 main terminals support safe, accessible servicing while maintaining protection class expectations in industrial environments. Compliance with IEC, EN, UL, and CSA standards provides a clear path to regulatory alignment and supplier reliability. The product also aligns with ABB EcoSolutions for lifecycle considerations, including end-of-life disassembly guidance and recycled material content, supporting sustainability goals and waste reduction strategies.

FAQs
Yes. The coil control circuit voltage ranges are 24-60 VAC, 60 Hz and 20-60 VDC, allowing the contactor to accommodate variations in control signals without misoperation. This supports reliable operation in systems with fluctuating supply voltages.
The contactor has 3 main NO contacts and 1 auxiliary NO and 1 auxiliary NC contact. The main circuit is rated for up to 1000 V, with AC-3 operation up to 132 kW (at appropriate voltages). Wiring connects via Main Circuit: Bars, with flexible 2 x 70–185 mm² or rigid Cu/Al options and auxiliary connections across 2x 0.75–2.5 mm² ferrule-equipped cables or 2x 1–4 mm² solid/stranded setups.
Ideal for motor protection and control in manufacturing lines, conveyors, pumps, and automation panels. With AF technology and surge protection, it performs reliably in networks with voltage fluctuations, enabling stable motor starting and reduced downtime in continuous operation environments.
It conforms to IEC 60947-1 and 60947-4-1, EN 60947-1 and 60947-4-1, UL 508, CSA C22.2 N°14, and CE declarations. Additional product declarations cover RoHS, REACH, WEEE for B2B use, and UL A2L certification for specific safety compliance.
The 5 million mechanical operations durability supports long service life in demanding applications. Built-in surge protection reduces nuisance trips, while modular auxiliary blocks simplify maintenance and future expansion. The compact block design also minimizes panel footprint and enables easier retrofits, supporting lower total cost of ownership over the product lifecycle.
