FAQs
Installation should follow the AF750 series guidelines: mount as a 3‑pole block contactor with main terminals designed for 52 mm² bars or 3x185 mm² rigid aluminum/copper cables, and connect the auxiliary circuit with 0.75–2.5 mm² flexible or 1–4 mm² solid/stranded conductors. Torque the red-labeled main terminal lugs to 45 N·m and verify IP20 coil terminals. Ensure correct coil voltage (48–130 V) and observe ambient limits for safe operation. This approach minimizes contact resistance and improves switching performance in harsh industrial environments.
Key ratings include a main circuit voltage of 1000 V, AC‑1 and AC‑3 current capability dependent on voltage and temperature (AC‑3 up to 750 A at 415–690 V, AC‑1 up to 1050 A in some configurations, and 300 A at 1000 V). It supports 50/60 Hz operation, with coil consumption around 50 W per pole, and a coil range of 0.85–1.1 Uc. Short‑circuit protection and a breaking capacity of up to 7500 A cosφ=0.45 at 440–690 V are specified for reliable motor switching.
Yes. AF750 contactors use a block design that is easily extended with auxiliary contact blocks and a wide range of ABB accessories. This enables additional NO/NC contacts, status signaling, and tailored interlocks without replacing the base device. The compatibility reduces panel complexity, simplifies maintenance, and supports scalable control schemes for growing automation needs.
The AF750N7‑30‑11‑69 complies with IEC 60947‑1/4‑1, EN 60947‑1/4‑1, UL 508, and CSA C22.2 N°14, with CE declarations and RoHS compliance. Operating temperature ranges from −25 to 50 °C (depending on options with a thermal overload relay) and up to 3000 m altitude without derating. It also features IP20 coil terminals and IP00 main terminals for basic environmental protection in controlled industrial spaces.
The AF750N7-30-11-69 offers a mechanical durability of about 3 million cycles with a maximum mechanical switching frequency of 300 cycles/hour. Regular inspection should include torque checks on terminal lugs (45 N·m), coil health assessment, and ensuring auxiliary contacts remain clean and properly aligned. Its robust design reduces replacement frequency in continuous‑duty applications like conveyors and pumps, improving overall equipment effectiveness (OEE).
