ABB 3AUA0000201076 ACS880 Extension Box - UL: 100 HP, 125 A
Part Number: 3AUA0000201076
Quick Summary
ACS880 Extension Box is an extension module that adds input fusing and a local disconnect to a wall-mounted ACS880-01 drive for compact machine control. Installers often face higher costs and longer wiring times when fuses, switches, and transformers are sourced separately; this integrated solution streamlines setup and reduces cabinet complexity. UL-listed components and CE-compliant practices help satisfy safety and regulatory requirements in North America and Europe, while the rugged enclosure supports industrial environments. By consolidating protection, control interfaces, and optional fieldbus adapters in a single package, downtime is reduced, maintenance is simplified, and expansion is easier without major cabinet changes. This extension box suits industries such as oil & gas, chemical, mining, and material handling, with support up to 150 HP in the wall-mount format.
Product Information
Extended Description
3AUA0000201076 ABB: The ACS880 Extension Box is an ACS880-01 wall-mounted drive on a back panel with an electrical box for additional devices. Within the box are line fuses to protect the drive. Optional devices includes a local disconnect switch, control power transformer, as well as ACS880-01 options for fieldbus, in-put/output adapters, special software, etc. The extension box will save cost and simplify installation because it has the input fusing and local disconnect switch that are typically required as part of the installation. It can also provide 120V digital signal interface for stop/start motor control. It is used in a variety of industries include oil and gas, chemical, mining, material handling, pulp and paper, saw mills and cement. Applications include extruders, winches, winders, conveyors, mixers, compressors, pumps and fans. The ACS880 Extension Box is available up to 150 HP in a wall-mountable package.
Feature: Integrated input fusing and a local disconnect switch provide built-in overcurrent protection and safe shutdown directly at the drive interface. Business Impact: This reduces wiring complexity, speeds up installation, and minimizes integration errors, leading to lower commissioning costs. Application: Ideal for conveyors, pumps, fans, and extruders in automated production lines where space and safety matter. ###### Feature: 120 V digital signal interface for stop/start control enables straightforward PLC or controller integration. Business Impact: Improves control reliability and reduces external interlock wiring; Application: Batch lines and material handling systems that demand precise motor stop/start signaling. ###### Feature: Optional devices include fieldbus adapters, I/O adapters, and software options. Business Impact: Provides a scalable path for automation, supports remote monitoring, and reduces the need for separate cabinets. Application: OEM machines and plant-wide drives where future expansion is anticipated. ###### Feature: Wall-mountable, back-panel enclosure with built-in fusing. Business Impact: Saves space, lowers installation time, and simplifies retrofits in existing facilities. Application: Retrofits in limited-space plants like cement, mining, and chemical processing. ###### Feature: Rated for up to 150 HP in wall-mount form; protective enclosure and drive compatibility. Business Impact: Supports heavier loads and longer life, reduces cabinet expansion costs, and enhances overall system reliability. Application: Extruders, winches, conveyors, pumps in heavy industry settings.
