Product Information

Extended Description

3AUA0000226284 ABB: The ACH580 Packaged Drive includes an ACH580 drive in a UL (NEMA) Type 1, 12 or 3R enclosure with either an input disconnect switch and fast acting fuses or an input circuit breaker. It is available from 1 to 350 hp at 230/460/575 V. The ACH580 Packaged Drive provides a door-mounted input disconnect switch (padlockable in the OFF position), electronic motor overload protection, a door-mounted control panel with graphical display for local control, provisions for external control connections, and serial communications capability
Integrated enclosure and disconnect simplify installation and enhance on-site safety. By combining drive, protective devices, and control hardware in a single unit, technicians can reduce panel depth and wiring complexity, accelerating startups for HVAC air handling units and rooftop systems. Electronic motor overload protection reduces motor wear and unplanned downtime, increasing equipment availability for critical HVAC processes. The door-mounted control panel with a graphical display enables rapid local tuning and troubleshooting without opening the enclosure, saving service time during commissioning and maintenance. External control connections and serial communications support easy integration with building management systems and automation networks, improving overall control reliability and data visibility. With a broad horsepower range from 1 to 350 hp and a choice of 230/460/575 V, this packaged drive delivers scalable performance for growing facilities. The padlockable input disconnect and UL/CE certifications provide regulatory confidence and safer lockout/tagout for maintenance teams.

FAQs

Consider enclosure type and coordination with the facility for 230/460/575 V service. The ACH580 Packaged Drive combines drive electronics, input disconnect, and protection in a single UL listed enclosure (Type 1, 12 or 3R). Ensure padlockable OFF on the disconnect for LOTO compliance and plan for external control connections and serial communications to integrate with the building management system.
The drive includes electronic motor overload protection designed to prevent overheating and electrical faults. This capability reduces motor wear and helps prevent unexpected downtime, supporting longer motor life and more consistent HVAC operation in commercial and light industrial applications.
Yes. The ACH580 Packaged Drive supports 1 to 350 hp across 230/460/575 V and is offered in UL Type 1, 12, or 3R enclosures, making it well-suited for air handling units, rooftop units, and other packaged HVAC equipment where space, safety, and reliability are critical.
The drive is UL-listed and CE-marked, with enclosure options including UL Type 1, 12, and 3R. These certifications and enclosure selections help meet global safety standards and adapt to a range of installation environments, from mechanical rooms to outdoor-rated HVAC installations.
Consolidating drive, disconnect, and protection into a single unit reduces cabling and field wiring costs, shortening commissioning time. Electronic overload protection minimizes motor faults, lowering maintenance spend, while built-in communications facilitate smarter diagnostics and better energy management through integration with building management systems.
