FAQs

The ACH580 Packaged Drive is ideal for commercial and industrial HVAC applications, including air handling units, fans, and pumps. Its integrated enclosure, door-mounted disconnect, and electronic overload protection simplify installation in packaged units or retrofit projects while ensuring reliable motor control across 1 to 350 hp at 230/460/575 V.
Its design combines the drive, input disconnect with fast acting fuses or a circuit breaker, and a door-mounted control panel in a single enclosure. This reduces wiring, cabinet space, and panel fabrication time, while meeting enclosure standards for diverse environments. The serial communications capability also supports quick commissioning with building management systems.
The ACH580 Packaged Drive covers a broad range from 1 to 350 hp and is compatible with 230/460/575 V supplies. The model touts a 22 A rating at 20 Hp in the included configuration and provides electronic motor overload protection, enabling reliable motor control across typical HVAC loads and varying duty cycles.
This ABB packaged drive is UL-listed and available in UL Type 1, Type 12, or Type 3R enclosures. The combination supports industrial-grade protection for indoor and outdoor installations, door-mounted disconnects for safe maintenance, and compliant electrical protection within a compact footprint.
By consolidating drive, disconnect, and control into one enclosure, maintenance becomes faster and fewer wiring errors occur during commissioning. The built-in motor overload protection reduces motor wear, while serial communications enable remote monitoring and troubleshooting, delivering lower total cost of ownership and faster payback in energy-efficient HVAC retrofits.
