FAQs
Plan for a UL (NEMA) Type 1 enclosure with an accessible door-mounted control panel. Use the built-in input disconnect switch and select either fast-acting fuses or an input circuit breaker to simplify wiring and improve safety during maintenance. Ensure adequate ventilation and space for wiring, and verify the 230/460/575 V supply compatibility for your HVAC or pump application.
The drive provides electronic motor overload protection to safeguard motors from fault conditions, while variable speed control helps match motor output to load. This reduces inrush currents and peak electrical demand, lowers energy consumption in fans and pumps, and minimizes unscheduled downtime due to motor damage, ultimately improving total cost of ownership in automated facilities.
Yes. With a horsepower range of 1 to 350 hp and voltage options of 230/460/575 V, the ACH580 Packaged Drive covers a broad spectrum of HVAC fans and pumps used in commercial and light industrial environments. Its enclosure options and built-in protections simplify installation in building automation schemes while providing reliable motor control.
This packaged drive is UL-listed and offered in UL (NEMA) Type 1 enclosures with options for 12 or 3R configurations. These enclosure standards support essential safety and regulatory requirements for commercial and industrial installations, while allowing straightforward integration with standard electrical infrastructures.
The integrated disconnect, protective features, and graphical control panel reduce installation time and on-site wiring, lowering labor costs. Fewer components and consolidated protection simplify maintenance, while serial communications enable remote monitoring and diagnostics, leading to reduced downtime and extended equipment life—delivering favorable total cost of ownership for HVAC and process applications.
