FAQs

The ACH580-31 is designed for installation in UL (NEMA) Type 1, 12 or 3R enclosures, enabling safe, code-compliant upgrades. It features a bypass starter, door-mounted control panel, and fast-acting drive fuses, which simplify wiring, enclosure integrity, and on-site service. This compatibility supports straightforward retrofits in existing HVAC plant rooms and new build projects alike.
The drive covers a broad range from 1 to 400 hp at 460 V and is rated up to 180 A. This makes it suitable for mid to large HVAC fans and pumps, enabling precise speed control and efficient operation while meeting the demands of higher‑power HVAC loads and process motor control.
It includes electronic motor overload protection, a graphical local control panel, and a bypass starter integrated into the enclosure. The combination delivers rapid fault diagnosis, safer maintenance without full system shutdowns, and consistent protection against overloads, short circuits, and wiring faults—critical for mission-sensitive HVAC and process machinery.
HVAC fans and pumps in commercial buildings, data centers, and industrial facilities benefit from reduced harmonic distortion and improved power quality. The drive’s 460 V, 1–400 hp range supports various load sizes, while the E-Clipse bypass keeps uptime high during service and maintenance, making it ideal for retrofit projects and new installations.
ROI comes from energy savings due to better motor control, reduced harmonic-related losses, and longer motor life from lower thermal stress. The integrated bypass and simplified commissioning shorten downtime and labor costs during installation and maintenance, while reliable protection reduces unplanned outages in HVAC and process applications.
