Product Information

Extended Description

3AXD50000047396 ABB: The ACS880-11 drives are customized to meet the particular needs of specific industries, such as oil and gas, mining, metals, chemicals, cement, power plants, material handling, pulp and paper, sawmills, marine, water and wastewater, food and beverage, and automotive. They can control a wide range of applications, including cranes, extruders, winches, winders, conveyors, mixers, compressors, centrifuges, test benches, elevators, extruders, pumps and fans. The ACS880-11 is a compact and complete regenerative drive solution with everything you need for regenerative operation in cyclic or continuous braking applications. With regenerative functionality, the braking energy of the motor is returned to the drive and distributed to the supply network so that it can be utilized by other equipment. With mechanical or resistor braking energy is wasted as heat and additional cooling is often required, whereas regenerative drive operation offers significant savings in energy consumption and cooling. The drive reaches a unity power factor, meaning that electrical energy is used to its full potential. Equipped with an active supply unit and integrated low harmonic line filter, the regenerative drive produces exceptionally low harmonic content.
Regenerative braking energy recovery reduces energy consumption and cooling needs by feeding energy back to the supply network. This directly lowers plant operating costs and improves overall line efficiency on cranes, conveyors, and winders. The integrated active supply unit and low harmonic filter simplify cabinet design, shorten installation times, and help meet harmonics standards while keeping wiring neat. Unity power factor operation minimizes reactive current, improving power quality and potentially lowering demand charges for large facilities. The drive’s 480/500 V compatibility and 75 kW rating enable straightforward retrofits and new builds, reducing the need for multiple drives and easing spare parts management. Its configurable control interfaces support ABB and third‑party controllers, delivering reliable uptime in harsh environments while keeping maintenance within predictable bounds.
