Quick Summary
Rittal DK PSM busbar is a modular power distribution solution for enclosure power routing in industrial automation. It tackles downtime and retrofit challenges by enabling snap-fit modules that can be added or reconfigured without shutting down the line. The design aligns with CE marking for European markets and EN 61439-series standards for modular power distribution; installation inside TS 8, TS IT, or VX IT enclosures is supported. For engineers seeking scalable, safe power provisioning, this solution fits your low-voltage busbar strategy while maintaining regulatory compliance and predictable cost. By supporting live retrofits and a 2-infeed configuration, it aligns with today’s lean manufacturing goals and data-driven energy management.
Product Information
Extended Description
7856020 Rittal: DK PSM busbar, 7-way, 3~, 16 A, Infeed: 2, For H: 2000 mm
Article number
DK 7856.020
Design
With 2 infeeds (jack), 3-phase redundancy
Product description
The modular system facilitates basic configuration of the racks, thanks to a vertical support rail with single-/3-phase infeed. The various socket modules to supply the active components may be snap-fitted into the support rail. This can even be done whilst the system is operational, because the support section is shock hazard-protected.
Benefits
Modules may be retrofitted whilst operational.
Technical specifications
Each plug-in module picks off a phase on the support rail, either from infeed or from the redundant infeed, depending on the direction of connection.

FAQs
Yes. The DK PSM busbar is designed to fit TS 8, TS IT, and VX IT enclosure families and uses a vertical aluminium rail with a maximum height of 2,000 mm. It provides seven 3~-output slots at 16 A per infeed, with two infeeds that can be configured for main and redundant feeds. Snap-in socket modules allow quick, safe integration.
Two infeeds allow each plug-in module to draw from either the primary or redundant infeed, depending on connection direction. In operation, this arrangement maintains power to active components during feed switching and simplifies maintenance while minimizing the risk of a full power outage.
Retrofits are supported with live operation in mind, as modules snap into a protected vertical rail and the system is designed to minimize exposure to shock hazards during upgrades. Always follow safety procedures, implement lockout/tagout where required, and verify system status with CMC III monitoring if used.
Yes. The DK 7856.020 supports a measurement option with CMC III, enabling energy data collection and power monitoring for energy management, efficiency tracking, and compliance reporting within production lines.
Upgrading provides measurable ROI through reduced downtime, safer live retrofits, and scalable power provisioning that grows with automation needs. The 7-way, 2-infeed design supports a cost-effective upgrade path by reusing existing enclosures while enabling phased expansions.
