Product description
The modular system facilitates basic configuration of the racks, thanks to a vertical support rail with single-/3-phase infeed. The various socket modules to supply the active components may be snap-fitted into the support rail. The various modules, earthing pins, IEC320 etc. may be inserted into the support rail in any combination. This is easily achieved, even by non-electricians, thanks to the shock hazard protected plug & play system.

FAQs

Yes. The DK 7856.240 is designed to snap into a Rittal vertical support rail using a single module slot and leverages WAGO WINSTA MIDI for quick, reliable electrical connections. It features a 4-way socket arrangement (CEE 7/3 type F earthing) to suit common control panel layouts and can be installed by technicians familiar with modular rail systems. This compatibility minimizes additional adapters and reduces installation time.
Key specs include 110–230 V AC at 50/60 Hz, a maximum current of 16 A, and a 1-phase infeed. The module length is 250 mm, with four sockets (D type) and earthing pins. It operates in temperatures from 5 °C to 45 °C and can tolerate 5–95% relative humidity (non-condensing). These parameters support reliable operation in typical industrial cabinets and on production lines.
The DK 7856.240 excels in modular rack power distribution for control panels, cabinet enclosures, and automation cabinets in manufacturing, data centers, and testing laboratories. Its plug-and-play design, 4-way configuration, and compact 250 mm footprint enable rapid reconfiguration during line changeovers, upgrades, or expansions without extensive rewiring, reducing downtime and accelerating deployment across multiple workstations.
The design aligns with CE safety expectations and standard European enclosure practices, supporting safe and compliant installations within typical industrial cabinets. While the datasheet notes these common safety considerations, always verify specific certifications (CE marking, IP rating, SIL relevance) for your exact installation context and integration with other safety-critical components in the control system.
Plug-and-play assembly minimizes training time and field wiring errors, accelerating commissioning and reducing labor costs. The unit ships as a single pack (1 pc), weighs 0.347 kg, and uses a modular approach that simplifies replacement or expansion. Over the lifecycle, this translates to lower downtime, easier upgrades, and a favorable total cost of ownership for automation projects.
